General Description

AMMONIUM MURIATICUM
Sal Ammoniac

A state of prostration bordering on a typhoid state is produced by this remedy. All mucous secretions are increased and retained. Especially adapted to fat and sluggish patients with respiratory troubles and liver affections. Irregular circulation and profuse glairy secretions. Head and chest worse mornings; abdomen worse afternoons; limbs and skin worse evenings.

Mind.--Melancholy, apprehensive, internal grief. Desire to cry but cannot.

Head.--Hair falls out with itching and dandruff. Head full and compressed, worse morning.

Eyes.--Mist before eyes, optical illusions, incipient and capsular cataract.

Nose.--Acrid hot watery discharge, sneezing, sore nostrils, loss of smell, obstruction and itching.

Face.--Inflammatory face-ache. Mouth and lips sore and excoriated.

Throat.--Throbbing and swollen tonsils. Difficult swallowing. Viscid phlegm. Tonsillitis. Oesophageal stricture.

Stomach.--Thirst for lemonade, regurgitation, bitter waterbrash, nausea and gnawing. Epigastric pain after eating.

Abdomen.--Splenic stitches with difficult breathing. Navel pain. Liver congestion. Fat abdomen. Much flatus.

Rectum.--Itching haemorrhoids, sore pustules, hard crumbly or mucus stools. Burning after stool. Mucus stools alternating with constipation.

Female.--Early profuse dark clotted menses, worse night. Pregnancy abdominal pain. Green mucous stools during menses. Egg-white leucorrhoea and slimy discharge after urination.

Respiratory.--Hoarseness and burning larynx. Dry cough worse lying. Chest stitches. Loose afternoon cough with rattling mucus and salivation.

Back.--Icy coldness between shoulders with itching. Bruised coccyx pain. Backache like a vise.

Extremities.--Ulcerative finger pain, tearing toes, heel pain, hamstring contraction, sciatica worse sitting, offensive sweaty feet.

Skin.--Evening itching, blisters and intense burning relieved by cold.

Fever.--Evening chilliness without thirst. Heat in palms and soles. Low fevers from unhealthy climate.
