This remedy shows by its peculiar skin symptoms its pronounced power of disorganizing the blood, causing conditions seen in low fevers, eruptive diseases, diphtheria, follicular tonsillitis, streptococcus infection and haemorrhagic states. Skin livid or purplish; face dark, hot; throat swollen and purple; delirium, weak pulse, torpor and prostration. Malignant scarlatina picture. Diarrhoea, dysentery and profound weakness. Adynamia, lividity and stupor.
Head.--General stupor, sighing. Confused and depressed mind. Frontal headache with drowsiness. Passive congestion headaches. Suffused dilated eyes; photophobia. Dusky face. Thin bloody nasal discharge.
Throat.--Inflamed, oedematous, dusky red. Great swelling. Dry, rough, choking feeling. Neck swollen and tender. Hoarse croupy voice. Tongue dry and brown. Teeth with sordes. Swallowing pain to ears.
Respiratory.--Hurried, irregular breathing. Dry hacking cough. Lungs sore and tired.
Sleep.--Drowsy, restless, disturbed and unrefreshing.
Skin.--Miliary livid rash. Large dark-serum blisters. Patchy livid eruptions disappearing on pressure. Cold skin. Raynaud's disease.
